On any given day Olive Tree is filled with bright and energetic children, full of laughter and sometimes a little cheekiness. They are excited at the opportunities provided at OTLC, and love to come.

The energy seen belies the tragic and impoverished circumstances our little ones emerge from everyday. In a community plagued with poverty and disease it is no surprise that their biographies read very similarly: single parent home; orphaned; terminally ill father or mother; abandoned by father; numerous siblings, cousins and extended family members all living in an impossibly small house. Many of these young children are required to help in the rock quarry at times, pushing wheel barrows of stones or doing various other jobs. It is no surprise then that children find a loving safe and homely place to be at OTLC. With a healthy lunch, consistent care and attention our children thrive, learning important life skills and abilities.
